Some places just feel open as soon as you walk in. This two bedroom apartment at Avani Palm View Hotel and Suites in Dubai Media City does exactly that. I walked through the door and the first thing I noticed was all the light. Every wall that could be a window is basically a window here. It is that kind of Dubai view, where you can spot the coastline one minute and busy city life the next. Sometimes you get a sunset that practically fills up every corner of the living room. 

People often talk about open plan living but this one does not feel cold or empty. The main living and dining area here feels social but also somehow relaxed. You can actually see yourself just sitting on the sofa with music on or having some friends over. The kitchen is tucked in nicely but not out of reach. It feels like a real place for cooking, with those good countertops that never seem to get messy. The appliances are all high end and they actually make you want to try a new recipe instead of just ordering in again. 

The two bedrooms are bigger than you might expect. Both come with built in wardrobes so you actually have space for all your clothes without stuffing things under the bed. Each room has its own bathroom and I honestly spent a couple extra minutes checking out the showers. The hotel style vibe is there but it is also private enough that it feels like yours. If you have guests or a family it just works. These bathrooms are bright too, and not in a cold way. You almost want to linger after a long day. 

Something else that surprised me was how much you get outside of your actual apartment. Living here is not just about owning a home it is really like the best part of hotel living without that checked in feeling. There is a fitness center downstairs that is big enough so you are not fighting for a treadmill on a busy day. The infinity pool looks right over the Palm Jumeirah. Bring a book or just sit for an hour and you probably will not feel like leaving. Sometimes you see people working on laptops by the pool or spiraling into a chat with neighbors. 

The concierge staff actually remember your face which is not always the case in the city. That is something I notice when I see a property run this well. Little things like getting parcels or answering questions just feels easy. 

Location is one of the big wins here. Avani Palm View sits pretty much at the crossroads of Dubai Marina JBR and the Palm. I have walked to several coffee shops and you are never far from a good meal or a new spot popping up over the weekend. The tram and metro are honestly closer than you'd think so getting anywhere is quick with or without a car. Sometimes you even hear a bit of the city but it never feels too loud. At night you get a mix of lights but nothing keeps you awake. 

This apartment works for all kinds of people. It is a good fit if you want an investment in a place people always talk about moving to. But I think it is also just right for someone who wants an easy city life with nice things but without the fuss.
