Magnificent Duplex Penthouse with Private Pool

This five bedroom duplex penthouse at Armani Beach Residences in Palm Jumeirah does exactly that. I actually lingered in the entry for a bit because you feel that hush and quiet luxury right away. It sits right at the very top of a building that only has seventy six homes in total so the sense of privacy is huge. When you are up here the city feels far below and all you really notice out the tall living room windows are the blue of the Arabian Gulf spread out forever and a skyline that always seems to surprise you.

Living space inside this penthouse is more than ninety eight hundred square feet so you get sweeping rooms and high ceilings everywhere you look and you almost want to bring out a yoga mat just to stretch out under all that light and space. Someone carefully thought through every bit of this place. Sometimes new homes feel staged or a little impersonal but here the flow between the open living and dining and the kitchen just feels simple and welcoming. I could actually picture people settling in with coffee or friends leaning at the counter in the kitchen swapping stories. Sometimes it is hard to translate feeling into words but everything just flows easy in here.

The interiors have Armani Casa's cool simplicity and you notice these gentle shades and clean lines as soon as you walk in. There is a real attention to how things touch and feel. Even the handles and taps have a reassuring weight. It is sort of a blend between Japanese calm and Italian polish which sounds odd until you are standing in it. The architect Tadao Ando really left his mark too honestly. Look at the way the light falls in the hallways or how the spaces kind of invite you to pause. 

Upstairs or downstairs you find these five large bedrooms each with their own bathroom obviously and lots of built in storage so that everything tucks away neatly. You get a sense the main bedroom was meant to impress but it still manages to feel calm not flashy. There is one closet big enough for a boutique. The bathrooms are the kind you want to linger in longer than you mean to and the main suite actually has its own view straight across the water so you can see the city lights at night without leaving bed. 

People always ask about private facilities and yes there is a pool just for you. It is not one of those tiny boxes on a roof either. I stood out beside it and the breeze was cool and the water was so still some days you forget you are in Dubai at all. There is also parking for ten cars if that sort of thing matters which is pretty rare on Palm Jumeirah. 

Life here means you get access to everything in the Armani Beach Residences community so there is a fitness center that makes you want to actually use it and places to relax even if you are just waiting for someone. And you are minutes from all the spots people travel across Dubai for anyway like those weekend brunches at Palm West Beach or the quick trip to Nakheel Mall if you forgot something for dinner plus there's always that coffee by the water whenever you fancy.
