Pearson Gardens, Pearson Avenue, Barcelona
Some homes just stop you for a second right when you walk in. That is what happened for me at Villa Grande over in Pearson Gardens on Pearson Avenue. Seriously the first thing that hits you is the light. Big open windows draw your eye right across the city and actually all the way out to the Mediterranean. There is just something about city views where you can spot the cathedral or the sea in the distance while still feeling like you are safe and private. Honestly it makes you want to slow down just for a minute and take it all in.
This villa is tucked into one of Barcelona's most exclusive addresses and you feel it straight away. The avenue is wide and lined with old trees and when you step out front you almost forget the city is right here. Pearson Gardens really is its own little world but at the same time you are close to what everyone loves about Barcelona. I noticed there are kids riding scooters in the afternoons and the little bakery where you can get good coffee is just around the corner. You do not get this much space anywhere else. And this plot is huge by city standards. I am talking about lawns where you can really throw a football or just stretch out by the pool. Even if you just want to wander in your bathrobe on a Sunday morning you have total privacy. There are ancient olive trees at the edge and the smell of lemons some evenings. It feels both grand and casual.
Inside it is something else. The design here is by Jaime Beriestain and if you have seen his work you know how he mixes warm palettes with these bursts of bold color and texture. The atmosphere just feels easy and lifted. You get natural stone in the main spaces then suddenly this stretch of glass that just floods the rooms with daylight. Every time I walk upstairs I think about how the lines are clean but not cold. Even the staircases feel like a space to pause for a second. Villa Grande covers three floors above ground and two set quietly underground so you actually have a ton of space for whatever you need. There is a real sense of flow between the inside and outside and the terrace on the rooftop is just unbeatable. People love to catch the sunset here. Sometimes you can hear music in the distance drifting up from the city. Something about the way this villa is set up you get privacy without giving up your views. No one is looking in but you see everything.
The garden design is what stood out to me after wandering outside. You notice how the green spaces are connected. Oak trees combined with cypresses and palms that make it feel more like you are in a private park. In the pool area there is a big sunny patch with space for loungers and you can just as easily find a quiet shady spot under the pine trees if that is your thing. There is something almost secret about the way the plants are layered. The air smells fresh year round. Even in winter you see life. I actually sat down on one of the garden benches and just heard birds going at it in the morning light.
Five bedroom homes in Barcelona are rare at this level. Each bedroom gets its own view so everyone wakes up to something peaceful. The finishes are really well done but not flashy. Built in wardrobes where you want them. Lighting that makes mornings soft and evenings cozy. There is even a big family kitchen that feels like somewhere people actually cook together not just heat up something quick. The dining area is made for real gatherings you can picture glasses clinking on a long evening. And if you work from home honestly one of the upstairs rooms would make a great office with light coming in late in the day.
What gets me every time is just how easy it is to imagine living here for real. You are in Pedralbes which is always going to be in demand and yet you barely hear the city noise. Barcelona international schools are not far and there are parks all around for after work jogs or evening walks. Weekend markets pop up nearby and you can be at a beach café in a few minutes. Plus the airport is a smooth drive if you ever need to go.
The only way to really know if Villa Grande gives you that same feeling is to spend a little time here. If you want to walk around or just sit and see if it feels right I am around any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we want your next move to feel right for you no pressure ever just real advice. Let me know if you want to chat or set up a visit.
